Peoples Legacy – Chapter 23 : I Look so Different

“Interlude  part 1: Confidence” starts

Bebe: “So yeah, he’s got some confidence issue, he definitely rejects that girl I set him up with”

Maurice: “He’s a teenager, every teenager goes through that. Also, isn’t she technically your aunt?”

(2).png

Bebe: “And you’re technically supposed to be my ex-stepbrother Mr. Valadez”

Maurice: “Well, I guess as long as we’re not related by blood. So what can I do for him?”

Bebe: “I don’t know, asked him to go to the gym with you? I don’t say that there’s something wrong with it, it’s just he’s been mentioning that as the reason why he’s not going for it. He even mentions that nonsense that it’s only because of my magic. I’m pretty sure the expansion of magic isn’t out yet.”

Maurice: “Well, there’s voodoo magic”

Bebe: “Why would I learn that? That’s stupid. So, yeah, I think you should move in”

Maurice: “I guess, I’ll move in”

(3).png

Bebe: “Okay, done, now that you’ve moved in, let’s go to my room”

At Bebe’s room

Maurice: Maybe your brother is right, you do have magic

“Interlude part 1 ends”

Oh, hi again. On the way home I was greeted by my sister and a man with a red hair. He was my girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. His name is Maurice Valadez, and yes, he’s the son of London Valadez, my mother’s ex-husband and my father’s “best friend”.

(10).png

This is some kind of intervention. I thought to myself then. And It was an intervention, alright. It might not seem like one though. He asked me to go to the gym with him every day. This was definitely my sister’s idea. He hated it that I’m fat, just like my father did.

My father even said being fat was unhealthy, he’s all about the myth that obesity can kill you. There’s no proof that you can die from eating too much food, well, except if you’re eating poorly made Japanese food, but I guess it’s a different science completely. It’s also kind of his fault though, how could you not eat a lot when you have a butler in your house cooking you all of this delicious food.

(11).png

Anyway, I suppose there’s nothing wrong with going to the gym, it’s not like I’m lazy or anything. I could probably gain some fitness skill, and skill is always good.

My sister left us without saying anything, I guess she and Maurice had planned this all along. Although, I was a bit curious about their relationship, so on the way to the gym I asked him about it. I guess they’re in an open relationship.

(12).png

They broke up after Bebe aged up into young adult since it would be awkward for her to date a teenager. As they’re single now they both started fucking other people. I suppose they couldn’t really leave that “open sex life” but they like each other enough to “get back together” even though still fucking other people. At least that’s what I think why they do it, I’m not slut shaming or anything, I just thought that’s just ridiculous and will never gonna work.

(14).png

We went to the gym in the San MyShuno as it’s the best gym at the moment. I trained with this gym trainer named Logan. He’s pretty beefy guy, I don’t really intend to be that beefy but if he could do it, maybe I could do it as well.

(16).png

After hours of running on a treadmill, I felt a confidence boost come rushing through my body. I think I’ve lost a lot of weight.

(24).png

That’s until I went to the bathroom and look at my self. Still as fat as always. Logan said that it’s okay for the body to not change in one night, and as I’m a teenager my metabolism was still high so it should change faster than an adult. I looked it up on the computer later and I guess he’s kind of right.

“Interlude part 2: after the gym” starts

Maurice: “He’s getting used to it, he even stayed to push the limit. Even though there’s no change yet I suppose it’s still time for him?”

Bebe: “Well, that’s good, I just hate it when he’s always being apathetic and cynical about everything, he did not even believe in himself anymore. I mean, he’s the heir for god sake, I couldn’t be here for the eternity and took care of him.”

(26).png

Maurice: “Oh yeah, so did you notice that my muscle get bigger?”

Bebe: “Oh, don’t flirt with me right now, I’m really tired from work, I need my beauty sleep.

(27).png

“Interlude part 2” ends.

I look so different right now. I kept going to the gym for 3 days straight and I guess it shows. I didn’t even need to go to the gym anymore. I found out a life hack about just inviting the trainer at your house whenever you want. So I built a home gym. From then on I could stay fit whenever I wanted to.

(33).png

Everyone did notice the change in my body. Of course my sister “the responsible one” said, “I told you so” a couple of time even though I did this for my self and not because of her “intervention”. I mean, I could probably just go to the gym alone without her doing an intervention about it.

(37).png

She even asked me if I’m “confident” enough to talk to Vanessa again. Well, I’m not going to her again because she’s already been tainted with her voodoo magic thing. That would technically be rape if she does not even consent to this. I still think my dad was using Bebe’s magic to get friend Logan to fall in love with him. As a consequence, she died of a curse literary right after they married each other. I’m just not taking any risks.

“Yeah, I’m not gonna go for her, I’m gonna look for my own. You know there are dating apps right?”

(38).png

She looked disapproved, but she’s not showing any resistance.

“By the way, I already have a date for tonight and don’t do your magic thing again this time. That’s just plain creepy” I said to her.

(39).png

“Just get back before curfew okay! Dad’s rule still apply you know!”

“Yeah, whatever”

***

Well, I got stood up. She’s not coming and I’m stuck with this guy on the bar. It’s another Melvin-Bloom. I can’t seem to get away from my father’s friends family members but I guess it’s a small world.

(41).png

He didn’t recognize me at all, I really did look different after all. This didn’t stop him from flirting with me though.

(44).png

I revealed myself to him. He begged me not to tell anything to anyone especially his husband. I couldn’t promise anything though. He did flirt with a teenage boy and yeah, it’s kind of creepy so I guess I’ll try.

(45).png

“I didn’t know you’re gay. Well, I think I guy you might like” he said, from his tone, this seems like a bribe.

Hold on, I’m not gay at all but why did he assume that. I explained to him about that, and he told me that this is the “gay part” of the nightclub. Huh, I guess that’s why I didn’t find my date after all. So he pointed me where I’m supposed to go.

A skinny blonde girl approached me and called my name. I explained to her what happened. I guess she forgave me for the inconvenience. She also apologizes for not answering the text messages I sent her as she forgot her phone at home. Nevertheless, I probably should go home now as it’s my curfew already.

(46).png

But ultimately, I went with her anyway. I knew Bebe would be pissed but what can she do, I’m the heir and it’s technically my house now so I could do whatever I want.

(47).png

Question time:

Well, that was interesting! So, you seem to have some ideas of right and wrong ! Where did you get them? from cathytea in Chapter 23 of Peoples Legacy

School of course? Where else would we learn them from? It seems like there’s an impression that I used to not get the ideas of right and wrong. I guess you could be talking about my father. Well, I’m not him, and I guess I understand why you would assume that if that’s the case. I guess my father had some childhood issues. I mean, he also thought that we’re the only people that are important in this world, by that justification I’m sure it’s safe to assume that he’d also think that he’d the only one that’s right and anyone who opposed his thought is wrong.
